Our services and origin
The main purpose of formation is to discover one's vocation and to shape one's life in accordance with the charism and spirituality of the community. The process of formation involves several steps that may vary depending upon the congregation

health care
Pastoral care is an essential part of ministry for those to serve the local church and serve through Christ's love and justice and provide emotional, social, and spiritual support for those in need or who are suffering a crisis alone. This care and support can also provide nurturing through prayer.
social and pastoral ministry
Our Origin
Urged by the compassionate love of God and concern for the poor, the sick, and the neglected, Seraphina Nyambura felt inspired and called to care for such needy and neglected people. She was joined by other girls who had the same inspiration of dedicating themselves totally to God and serve Him in the poor and neglected. They started living together in August 1974 at Sagana Murang'a. They were approved as a “Pious union” by the Bishop of Nyeri. Among the girls, five of them desired to be elevated to a Religious Congregation, make public vows and live in a religious community. For this reason, they struggled hard to survive
Charism
In response to God’s eternal love and in union with Christ, the Sisters of Mary Mother of God are called to live the Merciful love of God and serve the Lord with joy, humility, confidence and peace for the Greater glory of God and salvation of mankind. This response demands Great generosity, total surrender and obedience to God’s will.
Spirituality
The spiritual life of the Sisters of Mary Mother of God must be founded on “Apostolic Spirituality” (Mt. 5:1- 8). Following the footsteps of Jesus their constant model the Sisters strive to lead a life of humility, meekness, simplicity, generosity and detachment from anything that may hinder their love and service of God. “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest in your souls”. (Mt 11:28 29).
